GURU PARANJOTHI SUBRAMANIAM

GURU PARANJOTHI SUBRAMANIAM

Paranjothi Subramaniam is the founder of the Self Awareness Centre, the first of which opened in Kuala Lumpur in 1988. He has guided the development of the Centres, which now number five. Over 40,000 participants have attended his seminars and workshops.

After graduation with a degree in electrical Engineering from a University in United Kingdom, he returned to his place of birth, Malaysia and began a long successful career in the Civil Service.
However, he felt drawn to a more spiritual life after receiving the blessings from his Holiness Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan. He was initiated into Kundalini Yoga Meditation on 8/12/1979 by Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan's prime disciple and gurupiran of PARANJOTHI PARIPOORNA GNANAM SABHAI MALAYSIA, Gnanaguru Paranjothi Sivasankaran .Under guidance of his revered Gurus he began practicing Kundalini Yoga Meditation and eventually became a spiritual master himself on 1/5/1988 and thus the title Gnanaguru Paranjothi is given as he accept the GURUDOM. However, while continuing his spiritual development, Paranjothi Subramaniam also embraced the latest Western concepts in psychology and psycho therapy. This took him to the United States where he met his mentor W. Brugh Joy, M.D. who made him realize the importance of the Heart Centre (Anahatha) Meditation. Brugh joy is the author of Best Sellers "Joys Way" and "Avalanche".

By 1992, Paranjothi Subramaniam felt confident enough to devote his life to solely teaching others, thus gave up his engineering profession. His skills as a Motivational trainer and Counselors were already well established and his time and energy was needed to develop new branches.

In 1988, he developed the exciting programme called the 7-Days Transformational Journey, a programme to change the lives of many. Designed in his own words, "Build People Psychologically; Uplift Them Spiritually And The People Will Build The Nation", is an experience that will reveal the divinity of oneself.

Our guru Paranjothi Subramaniam's teachings is the perfect blending of east and west. His Holiness Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan's kundalini gnana philosophy and western pyschology and pyscho therapy bridged grandly through the teachings of grandmaster PARANJOTHI SUBRAMANIAM.

FACEBOOK FOR TEACHING

How Could We Use Facebook to Teach Writing?

Reading and Writing are interlinked. Reading messages, friend’s requests, notifications and going through a friend’s profile would develop one’s reading skill. Through reading, students can acquire information, knowledge, a large vocabulary and a good command over the language. The more a person reads, the more effectively he will write. Writing blog, paragraphs, essays and stories can be implemented. This will improve one’s standard of writing as it is a process of creation and not a mechanical production. In Facebook, writing on the wall is one special feature. This enhances a person’s writing skill and helps a learner to establish a healthy rapport with one’s peers. The instructor can also tag pictures and ask students to comment on it. This will sharpen their observation skill and critical thinking.
Jack and the Beanstalk Anyone would wonder the rational behind publishing this story in this blog. I still could recall the days when my mom used to tell this story  when I was young. She used her mother tongue when these stories were told. Nowadays I wonder how could she knew these stories because she never had her formal education properly when she was young. Si Tanggang and Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup were the other Malay stories she used to tell me. However Jack and the Beanstalk is always my favourite bedtime story. I used to ask many questions to my mom regarding the existence of giant, magic beans and so on. She never failed to answer my questions. Mom was my first educator who instilled the habit of listening to stories where at later part helped me to become an avid reader of story books. Fairy tales in one way nurture positive values among students. It will help students to understand cross-cultural values of other communities in this world. Teachers should start telling these stories again.....

Why Attitude is Important?

Why Attitude is Important?
Positive attitude helps to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. If you adopt it as a way of life, it will bring constructive changes into your life, and makes them happier, brighter and more successful. With a positive attitude you see the bright side of life, become optimistic and expect the best to happen. It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and strengthening.

Attitude
Attitude can be defined as a set of beliefs developed in a due course of time in a given sociocultural setting. Although it necessarily so not determine behaviour but can have some impact on it. It is studied that positive attitude facilitates learning. If the learners are reluctant to learn or do not have a positive attitude they do not produce any result. Language learning is affected by the attitude and motivation. Motivated, demotivated and amotivated students have different perceptions of their class, teacher and curriculum. Their perceptions are responsible for their attitudes. An individual’s perception of the class, perception of the teacher, peer group, syllabus and awareness for future needs affects their attitude to language learning.

Teacher’s Attitude
Teachers’ attitude plays an important role in the present context. They have to change their role from being the controller of the class to the facilitator. They must accept students’ mistakes as a necessary part of the learning. They need to help and motivate students to learn in their daily life. Learners learning outcomes are influenced by the interpretation of teachers’ interpersonal behaviour. If they believe that the teacher is associated with them and their learning outcome, the teacher empathize with them, understands their problems, they react positively and this factor contributes to their motivation level in the classroom.
